OCEANSIDE, SAN DIEGO COUNTY — November 6, 2026. People traveling through Oceanside should plan around a major Metrolink suspension this weekend. The railroad says its Orange County Line and Inland Empire–Orange County Line will not operate on Saturday, November 7, or Sunday, November 8 because of scheduled maintenance and rehabilitation work.
Two lines that reach Oceanside are affected
The Orange County Line ordinarily links Oceanside with Los Angeles Union Station through Orange County. On both weekend days, Metrolink says it will provide no Orange County Line service between Oceanside and Los Angeles. The separate Inland Empire–Orange County Line will likewise have no service between Oceanside and San Bernardino.
No substitute buses from Metrolink
Metrolink explicitly says that it cannot provide alternative transportation for either line during the November 7–8 shutdown. This is an agency-specific notice: it does not mean every train or bus at Oceanside Transit Center is automatically canceled. Passengers considering an alternative operator should confirm that operator’s weekend availability and ticket rules independently.
Check the advisory before leaving
Residents, students and visitors making trips to Orange County or the Inland Empire can review Metrolink’s weekend closure notice or its line schedules. The posted closure covers two days; do not infer additional days without a new official notice.
